Monthly Meeting

Our February meeting will take place on Monday Feb 20th. Doors open at 6pm and the meeting runs 6:30-8pm. We will be discussing ways to get your family organized and share some money saving tips. Pam Olsen will be speaking to us about how to save money by using coupons and will teach us all we need to know! Child care is provided for free by the ladies of Jr League. We will be giving away free tickets to a Ladies Ducks Basketball game which is our monthly FAAPA Family Fun event for February! Some clothing donated by Sleep Country will also be available at our meeting. We meet in the conference room at South Hills Assembly of God which is located at 3195 Hilyard St. in Eugene. See you there!

New DHS Policy: All foster homes must now have carbon monoxide detectors. One on each floor of your home within 15 feet of where the children sleep. All newly certified homes and home recerts will be checked for the detectors. You can find out more by clicking below to read the new policy.

 Princess for a Day Event

A Family For Every Child will be hosting the Princess For a Day event again this year. It will be held on Sunday, March 4th at Valley River Inn. You can register by clicking on the link below. This event is free for foster children but also open to all girls for a $50 fee. This event is an opportunity for girls, ages 2-18 dress up in gowns, tiaras, and have a tea party with their friends.

Monthly FAAPA FAMILY FUN EVENT:

Each month we will be having a family fun event in addition to our monthly meeting. Check here for the info on what we will be doing and when. This is a great way to meet other foster families and build lasting memories with your children!

February's event will be attending the Oregon Ducks Women's basketball game vs. Oregon State on Saturday Feb 25th at 2pm.We will be giving out FREE tickets to the game at our monthly FAAPA meeting which will be held on Feb. 20th.

Tax Information

Every year about this time questions are asked about foster parenting and taxes. The most common one is: Can a foster parent have a child's ss# for tax filing purposes?  Answer: Yes, please contact the child’s worker if you don’t find this on your placement sheet. 

As for a foster parent's other tax questions - We must say the following: 

We cannot advise or direct you. If you have tax decisions please consult a qualified tax preparer.
