What? Springfield Summer Fest: Happy Birthday Springfield!  SummerFest celebrates Springfield in a big way! The city marks its 125th birthday with a look back at its roots: from Indian days to pioneer ways and more. Check out the historic village at Saturday’s FamilyFest, have fun at PetFest and FishingFest, listen to Satin Love Orchestra and American Idol stars, race all over town in the Ranch to River Run/Walk, and eat birthday cake — lots and lots of birthday cake. It’s a party, Springfield!

What?  Ultimate Frisbee: Get out and play Ultimate Frisbee. Strengthen skills in open field play. City of Eugene Recreation staff will provide basic instruction, rules, and strategy during the first 20 minutes, then play will commence on the field next to Petersen Barn. Ages 11 & up.

What? Teen Chefs Grades 6-12: Join us for a five-week course that challenges you to find your inner culinary artist. Participants will learn, prepare and enjoy recipes for a healthy meal. Registration required.

CULTURAL DIVERSITY/AWARENESS

 

What?  Tie Die and Tofu: What makes Eugene Eugene? This exhibit addresses the change in Eugene occurring 1967 through the mid 70s. It features the people and events, the politics and issues, and the fashion and music of the time.

What?  Parents in Balance Class: The City of Eugene Youth and Family Services invites parents to a series of classes that offer helpful tools, guidance, and information on child development. The Parents in Balance classes also provide an opportunity for parents to connect with one another in their community, creating a network of support that can overcome stress, burn-out or tension.
